What’s up next? Accessories, of course! What? Did you think you’d only have to worry about your own accessories? Think again! As I’ve mentioned before, the invitation is the first glimpse your guests will see of your style as husband and wife so you’ll definitely want your invitation to reflect that. In addition to serving as stylish add-ons many invitation accessories serve a useful purpose as well.
Accent Layer: Adds an extra pop of color to your invitation. An Accent Layer is a colored piece of cardstock mounted on the back of your invitation creating a 1/4″ border of color around the invitation.
Pocket Card: The Pocket Card is a cross between an Accent Layer and a Pocket Folder. The invitation is mounted to the front of the card while enclosure cards are tucked into the pocket on the back.
Pocket Folder: Adding a Pocket Folder is the perfect way to keep everything in its place! The Pocket Folder is a folded piece of cardstock that allows for the invitation to be mounted on the top (for vertically oriented invitations) or side (for horizontal invitations) and features a pocket below or on the right for enclosure cards. The Pocket Folder is then folded and can be wrapped with a belly band before being placed into the envelope.
Belly Band: A Belly Band can be used by itself or with an Accent Layer or Pocket Folder. It serves a similar purpose as the Pocket Card and Folder by wrapping around your invitation and enclosures to ensure that they arrive in your guest mailboxes looking as neat and organized as when they left your hands.
Envelope Liners: The perfect complement to any wedding invitation suite, envelope liners are another way to add a pop of color to your suite. Dear LC liners come assembled (adhered) to the envelope saving you time and energy!
If you’re going custom, the sky is the limit. Everything from rhinestones to ribbons can be incorporated into your invitation design.
Next I’ll be tackling envelopes and calligraphy! Stay tuned!
