Let’s face it: weddings are expensive.  It’s very rare that you meet a couple who isn’t looking for areas to cut costs. So one of the questions you might be pondering while wedding planning is “do we really NEED to send save the dates?”

You might not.  You really only need to send them if you’re having a destination wedding or your wedding will take place on a holiday weekend.  In either of those cases you might want to give your guests the heads up so they can start saving and/or making travel arrangements.  You may also want to consider sending save the dates if your wedding is taking place in the summer to ensure that your guests don’t make other plans.
